The Year 7 pupils fresh from getting rained on in Snowdonia, set off to Birling Gap in East Sussex hoping for better weather on Monday to collect data for their Geography CE Fieldwork task. Sadly they were to be disappointed, but at least it was only with the weather!

They braved the rain (and dodged it at times in the National Trust (NT) Education Centre) to collect Longshore Drift and coastal erosion data, whilst gaining an understanding of why the NT have chosen a policy of ‘Managed Retreat’ for this famous coastal erosion hotspot.

Students will prepare for the task over the coming weeks and write up the study over their summer break, perhaps taking the chance to visit the site in better weather!
