Focus on Community in Year 4 Wellbeing 23rd May 2025 Community This half term in Wellbeing the Year 4 children have been learning about the meaning of community and investigating different community groups in our local area from the Crawley Old Girls’ Walking Football Group to Little Kickers Development Classes and everything in between. Working together in pairs, they initially investigated the target audience and purpose for each of the local community groups on the lists that they were provided with. They discovered that whilst many of the groups that they attend outside of school are sport and special interest based, many other groups exist to provide support and assistance for people in need or to provide cultural and educational opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds. After researching existing community organisations, the children worked together to decide on what community group they might start, what the focus of that community group might be and how they would advertise the group to others in the local area. They then used AI to create a logo for their organisation which had to encapsulate the primary goal or focus of their group which they then presented to the rest of the class.
