Our U11 team enjoyed a fantastic afternoon of football at the Mowden Cup Co-Ed Tournament on Friday 18 September, finishing in a very creditable third place overall.
Representing the school was a mixed squad drawn from across the year groups: Kira, Siya, Dylan E (Year 6), Gabrie, Henry, Walter, Holly B (Year 5), and Ebba (Year 4). Despite coming together from different year groups, the team quickly developed excellent understanding, teamwork and camaraderie throughout the afternoon.
The squad performed superbly, playing five matches and recording three victories, demonstrating great determination, skill and sportsmanship in every game. The players supported one another brilliantly and showed tremendous resilience, adapting to different opponents and challenges as the tournament progressed.
Perhaps the most pleasing aspect of the afternoon was the way the group bonded together. It was wonderful to see pupils from Years 4, 5 and 6 encouraging one another, celebrating successes as a team and enjoying the experience together. Their positive attitude and exemplary behaviour were a credit to the school.
Congratulations to all the players on an excellent tournament and a well-deserved third-place finish. Most importantly, they played with enthusiasm, respect and smiles throughout, making it a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon for everyone involved.
