We are buzzing with our minibeast topic this week. We learnt all about bees and discussed what words we could think of… we came up with honey, buzz, wing, sting and flowers to name a few and wrote fantastic descriptive sentences after listening to our Literacy story called “Willbee the Bumble Bee”.
In Forest school we braved the winds and visited the mud kitchen. We also helped our teachers weed the fairy corner where we even discovered dinosaur eggs!
In Maths we continued to extend ourselves with numbers up to 20 by counting how many bugs we could find in each bug hotel.
We finished off our hum and buzz topic with bumble bee art. We had to carefully wind the wool around our cardboard bees to not only cover them, but to make them all stripey. Lots of fine motor skills were required for this activity!
