Another half term, another exciting launch to a new topic! Year 2 has been awash with clues as to what we are going to be learning about over the next few weeks. There was a suitcase was filled with strange clues such as binoculars, a snorkel and insect repellent as well as original pieces of Aboriginal art, a didgeridoo, a bull roarer and an authentic boomerang.

We have compiled a list of questions to ask an Australian guest who will be visiting us soon. Cornelia and Gianluca have many questions about the Australian animals. Max wants to find out what the main religion is in Australia and Daisy wants to know what boomerangs are used for. Others hope to do research on famous buildings and landmarks. Many are curious to find out more about the deadly and dangerous creatures.

During Religious Education we enjoyed finding out more about how the Chinese celebrate New Year. The children were all born in either the year of the rabbit or the tiger and have written the appropriate Chinese character for their year of birth.
