On Thursday 3rd March six Year 4 pupils travelled to Christ’s Hospital to take part in a Maths challenge. It was the first ever Year 4 Maths challenge Copthorne had ever entered and so everyone was excited to be there and taking part! The pupils were able to witness the famous lunch parade before taking part in the challenge; which was amazing to watch!
During the challenge the pupils undertook various tasks using pentominoes, dominoes, tangrams and other mathematical problems.
The pupils behaved impeccably throughout the afternoon and at the end of the challenge William and Wesley took 8th place and Gabi and Ewan took 15th place in the Decagon section, out of 33 schools, and Lacey and Amelie also came 15th in their section the hexagons, also out of 33 schools! All in all it was a super afternoon and a great experience for all!
