Students with headteacher

Year 4

17th January 2020

In English this week, based on a description of a farm from Charlotte’s Web, the pupils created their own artwork of what they thought the farm might look like using oil pastels. They then used their art work to write descriptive poems. They had to try and include poetic devices such as: alliteration, similes and personification to bring the farm to life for the reader.

Year 4 have also been focusing on the 5 steps to feeling happy. Step 1 is concentrating on your breathing for one minute. Everyone agreed they felt calmer and happier after 60 seconds.

Year 4 had great fun this week in Maths making flower clocks to help them with their 12 hour time work.

We are expanding to GCSE!

Parents have told us they need a quality senior school alternative, so from September 2021, pupils already at Copthorne or joining in Year 7 will be able to stay with us to Year 11. Our first GCSE exams will take place in 2026.

Join us at our next Virtual Open Morning or read about our expansion to find out more.
