School history & tradition

Founded in 1902 by the brother of the then Head of Winchester College, Copthorne Prep began its life as a small boys’ prep school feeding into Winchester College.

Copthorne Prep has many policies in place to ensure the best possible care for both pupils and staff.

Our people

The people that teach, support, inspire and care for our pupils are the heartbeat of our school. They are here to guide, nurture and encourage every step of the pupil journey from Nursery through to moving on to senior school at Year 6.

ISI Inspection

With ‘excellence for all’ as one of our values, you can imagine how gratifying it was when ISI inspectors rated us ‘Excellent’ in all areas in our most recent inspection.

Copthorne Prep sits within the village of Copthorne just 5 minutes from junction 10 of the M23 and enjoys an oasis of tranquillity surrounded by country lanes, rolling fields and its own 50 acre woodland and spacious grounds.
