Cross Country Relay

The Cross Country Relay event held at Ardingly on Friday 27 February was a memorable and spirited occasion for all involved. Despite the very muddy conditions and persistent rainfall, our runners approached the challenge with remarkable enthusiasm and determination.

From the moment they arrived, pupils displayed a wonderful attitude, embracing the slippery terrain and unpredictable weather with positivity. The course was demanding—thick mud, waterlogged pitches, and constant drizzle—but every competitor rose to the occasion.

What stood out most was the atmosphere: every runner completed their leg with a smile. Their teamwork, encouragement for one another, and willingness to push through the tough conditions created a fantastic sense of camaraderie.

For many of our participants, this was their first ever school cross‑country event, making their performances even more impressive. They demonstrated resilience, grit, and a willingness to try something new, all of which embody the spirit of school sport.

Overall, the Ardingly relay was a tremendous success. The pupils represented the school with pride, positivity, and perseverance. We look forward to building on this experience and seeing their continued growth and confidence in future events.
