Gold at Pennthorpe Cross Country Relay 27th March 2026 Sport The squad enjoyed a fantastic afternoon of competition at the Pennthorpe Cross Country Relays this week. This was the first time the school had been invited to take part in this exciting event. Despite the wild and windy conditions, our pupils rose brilliantly to the challenge, showcasing outstanding determination, teamwork, and sporting spirit throughout the day. Results Round-Up U9 Boys – GOLD Our U9 Boys put on a phenomenal display, storming their relay to secure 1st place and take home the gold medal in their age group. A superb achievement and well‑deserved! U9 Girls – 3rd Place The U9 Girls showed great heart and consistency, finishing strongly to claim 3rd place podium spot in a competitive field. U10 Boys – 5th Place A determined effort from our U10 Boys saw them race hard in tough conditions, achieving a solid 5th place finish. U10 Girls – 6th Place The U10 Girls displayed excellent teamwork and grit, securing 6th place and demonstrating real promise for next season U11 Boys – 3rd Place Our experienced U11 Boys produced an impressive performance, earning a well‑fought 3rd place in their race, bringing home team bronze. U11 Girls – 4th Place Rounding off the day, the U11 Girls ran with superb focus and strength, just missing the podium to finish in a commendable 4th place. Overall, it was a hugely successful debut appearance for Copthorne. Every pupil should be incredibly proud of their efforts, resilience, and sportsmanship. We look forward to returning next year—and, hopefully, adding even more medals to the tally!
