Every week, Pre-School and Reception participate in a series of activities as part of our transition programme from Bumblebees to Reception. This also provides an opportunity for Reception children to maintain familiarity with the nursery environment now they have moved up.
It is a wonderful time for building friendships and engaging in a variety of activities. This week, we have been exploring the story of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’. As part of this, we decided to make bean soup. The children practised their knife skills by cutting potatoes, onions, and peppers, then combined these with beans and stock. Finally, we assembled all the ingredients in the soup maker and enjoyed sampling the delicious bean soup at the end of our session.
