Year 6 Leavers’ Programme Underway

As we head towards the end of term, the Year 6 Leavers’ Programme is well under way. Made up of a series of trips and experiences, the programme is designed to give our leavers the opportunity to enjoy their final few days together as a team and to finish their time at Copthorne on a high.

The programme began with a fantastic trip to Sussex Cricket, where pupils had the opportunity to experience a professional sporting environment first-hand. They explored the grounds, learned more about the game, and gained an insight into the skills, teamwork and dedication required to perform at a high level.

In the afternoon, the group travelled to Hove beach to enjoy some downtime by the sea. Pupils made the most of being by the sea, spending time together, taking part in relaxed activities and enjoying a well-earned break in the sunshine. The beach visit provided a wonderful balance to the morning’s structured learning, allowing everyone to unwind and reflect on their experiences.

They have also enjoyed an enterprise day here at school, and a trip to Centre of the Cell at the University of London where they took part in STEM workshops

A further highlight of the programme has been a fantastic day out at Thorpe Lakes. The children thoroughly enjoyed tackling the inflatable assault courses and taking part in a range of water-based activities. All the children ended the day with big smiles on their faces and were suitably exhausted!
