ISI Inspection 2026 Our most recent ISI inspection report (January 2026) met approval across all areas – from leadership and teaching, to safeguarding, wellbeing, curriculum and early years. What comes through most strongly is that Copthorne is a place where children feel safe, valued, inspired and able to achieve their full potential. The inspectors repeatedly noted the warmth of relationships, the respect shown between pupils and staff, and the inclusive culture that allows every child to flourish. They recognised the clarity of our aims and values, and how fully these are lived each day – something that only happens when a whole community is pulling in the same direction. Pupils across the school are curious, creative learners, demonstrating excellent knowledge, skills and understanding. Pupils present themselves as confident high achievers who aspire to succeed. Pupils show excellent self-discipline, self-confidence and resilience. Pupils with SEND also make strong progress so that their attainment meets their expected levels, with some exceeding. Pupils competence in communication is a real strength. They communicate with enthusiasm, clarity and expression where the school’s culture promotes open communication for all pupils. A large number of pupils excel in sport, music and drama with considerable success at local and wider level in examinations, performance and competitions.
