To top off last week, we welcomed 100 Year 2 children from across our Caterham Family of Schools for a football festival, and it was a truly heartwarming afternoon of sport.
The children were mixed into teams with pupils from other schools, so they got to make new friends and play alongside children they wouldn’t usually meet. It was lovely to watch them grow in confidence as the afternoon went on, and the atmosphere was full of enthusiasm and teamwork.
Each group then had a coaching session with professional coaches from Crystal Palace FC’s Palace for Life Foundation working on their skills through a mix of fun activities and small-sided games. The effort and sportsmanship on show were fantastic.
After all that running around, the children had earned their picnic tea, and it was a nice chance to sit down, relax and chat about the day.
A big thank you to all the parents and families who came to cheer them on. Your support made the afternoon, and we hope to see you at plenty more Family of Schools events.
