Following on from our Colour Monster story, we are continuing to talk about our emotions and how we feel. This week, the nursery children have been busy painting their own monsters using their favourite colours. While we painted, we talked about different feelings and what can make us feel happy, sad, worried or a little bit scared.
Some of the children talked about how it can feel a little scary sleeping in our big beds. We talked about how that is completely okay and that sometimes it takes time to get used to new things. We also talked about how learning to understand and manage our emotions takes time too.
It has been lovely listening to the children talk about their feelings and seeing them become more confident in expressing how they feel.
