Year 1 Dino-Mite Poetry Writing!

This week, Year 1 have been growing their writing skills by creating their own dinosaur poems. The children have been learning how to use adjectives and similes to describe prehistoric creatures in imaginative and exciting ways. They thoroughly enjoyed writing their poems and were proud to read them aloud to their friends. Here are some for you to enjoy:

A body as big as a classroom,
with legs as big as brown branches,
and a neck as long as a skyscraper.
Just imagine how strong they would have been!

From his terrible teeth to his long tail,
T. Rex is longer than two trucks,
with a footprint bigger than a kitchen table.
T. Rex is grumpy!

By Zara

From his terrible teeth to his terrifying claws,
T. Rex is longer than three post trucks in a car park,
with a footprint bigger than a white plate.
T. Rex is enormous!
