Amelia captained the U9 side today, choosing for Copthorne to bat first.The U9s were extremely motivated and focused which showed in their game, as they were like a different team! Congratulations to Roselly, Georgia, Tori & Harriet who are West Sussex Champions at both 70cm & 80cm having won convincingly at the Copthorne Show Jumping event yesterday. Roselly was also the individual winner at both heights! Copthorne are the current National Champions so will be defending their crown later this year! It was lovely to see Alice, Abbey, & Ruby (Year 2) competing as well.

Congratulations to Georgina Guest who won the Copthorne Prep School Young Musician of the Year. Her singing was brilliant! Sofia Yousif was runner up with her fantastic voice! Isabella Monaghan, Eloise Chirgwin and Chloe Redston gave fantastic performances as well. The adjudicator said she had huge difficulty in choosing a winner as all the scores were very close! Well done girls – you were all brilliant and should be very proud!

Amber, player of the Tournament Amber and Elise with winning medals! Amber and Elise played hockey for East Grinstead hockey club at a tournament on 3rd March and they won gold with Amber named player of the tournament. Amber went on to represent the team at Sussex Hockey club competition this weekend where they won silver and were told they have qualified for the British Regional Finals to be held at the end of April.

Congratulations to Jamie Ward (5/6), Daniel Gooda (3/6) and Madeleine Liu (4/6) who helped Copthorne to victory at the Cottesmore Chess Congress earlier this week. Ex-Copthorne boy, Josh Higgs won the individual trophy, and Madeleine was the best girl player on the day! The final rounds of the Sussex Primary Cup are all due to be played before the end of term, with all 4 Copthorne teams competing. We have high hopes that our “A” team (Madeleine, Amardip, Zevon and Adam) will be victorious!
