Students with headteacher

Year 1

13th March 2020

This week we have been working on doubling numbers and noticing the patterns that the answers make – such as two odd numbers make an even number. We have also begun to work out answers to near doubles ( ‘next door neighbour’ numbers) using cubes and numberlines to help us.We have written stories in the style of Chris Wormell ( our visiting author) and had great fun personalising our own stories including ourselves as the main character ie ‘Joseph and the Night Monster’!  Both classes have enjoyed making natural material pictures in our Forest School lessons and they really worked well in teams to make an recognisable end product – so different to the beginning of the year!

We are expanding to GCSE!

Parents have told us they need a quality senior school alternative, so from September 2021, pupils already at Copthorne or joining in Year 7 will be able to stay with us to Year 11. Our first GCSE exams will take place in 2026.

Join us at our next Virtual Open Morning or read about our expansion to find out more.
