Year 6 had an interesting day learning all about the different service men and what they wore and how much they had to carry whilst going off to war knowing that there was little chance of them seeing their families for a very long time. The children were able to handle the equipment and weapons used whilst also trying on some of the clothing and hats. They were able to look at the different gas masks used and learn to signal the military way with flags and Morse Code. The day was finished by looking at the medical surgical equipment that would have been used to treat the injured from the bombing in the Blitz. The Air Raid Sirens were very loud!
