Year 7 pupils have been developing their understanding of Healthy Eating and they have become more aware of the Healthy Eating Guide-lines. Emphasis this half term has been on the importance of including fruit and vegetables in the diet and all pupils have a good understand-ing of the “5 A day Campaign”. Practical assignments have all involved cooking with vegetables and pupils have made Crudities and Dips, Tomato Soup, Vegetable Cous Cous, Sweet Potato Curry and Carrot Cakes. 

After the half term holiday, year 7 classes will learn how to make a range of healthy main dishes and desserts. They will learn how to incorporate fresh seasonal fruit into popular desserts and they will make fresh pasta and Bolognaise Sauce.
